CHAIN WEAR GAUGE

Over time, there is wear between the chain pins and bushings. The outside diameter (OD) of the pin decreases as the inside diameter (ID) of the bushing increases, resulting in the growing slightly longer every time (this is what we call “chain elongation”). An elongated chain can result in an increased noise, chain slack, and loss of chain performance and efficiency. A chain wear gauge is a simple, user-friendly tool that enables you to determine when to replace an elongated chain.
